With Application Release 261, EXOKNOX expands the ways engineers can work with functional data while also streamlining a number of everyday tasks. In addition to curve- and map-based data, tabular structures can now be managed in EXOKNOX. The new Marimo Apps also introduce a Python-based technology for processing and analysing data.

Further improvements simplify administration and common workflows with EXOKNOX.

Function Data Now Available in Tabular Form

Functional data can now also be represented as tabular structures in EXOKNOX. Previously, channel-based functional data was supported for characteristic curves and maps.

Mandatory fields and unit types can be defined for tables. In addition, value lists and syntax validation rules can be specified.

This enables Application 261 to accommodate a wider range of functional data structures while ensuring that data can be managed and validated according to defined rules.

Marimo Apps for Data Processing and Analysis

With the new Marimo Apps, EXOKNOX introduces a Python-based technology for processing and analysing data. Further apps are already planned.

The first application is a new implementation of the existing Curve Editor for static elastomeric bushing behaviour.

The new Marimo Curve Editor extends its capabilities:

  • Curves can be fitted directly without running an additional script beforehand.
  • Both symmetric and asymmetric fitting are supported.
  • Stiffness curves can be displayed alongside force-displacement or moment-angle curves.
  • Linearity and progression limits are displayed directly in the curve diagram.

Direct curve fitting in particular eliminates an additional step from the previous workflow.

Manage Projects and Phases Directly

Users with the “Administrator” role can now create, edit and delete projects and phases directly through the user interface.

New entries become available to other users throughout the system immediately after they are created.

Fewer Clicks in Everyday Workflows

Application Release 261 also introduces several smaller improvements designed to make everyday work with EXOKNOX more convenient:

  • Open exports directly: After an export, users can immediately open either the exported file or the folder where it was saved.
  • Jump directly from Excel to a bundle: Deep links in Excel exports are now clickable. They open EXOKNOX and load the corresponding bundle directly into the selection.
  • Discard all changes at once: The new “Discard All” button makes it possible to discard all changes in a dialog at once.
  • Better navigation in datasets and bundles: The left-hand sidebar now has its own scrolling mechanism, keeping category names visible when working with entries further down in the editor.
  • Easier expanding and collapsing: The clickable area for expanding and collapsing items in search and selection has been adjusted for easier use.

Plan of Record Becomes Project-Specific

The previous Reference Tag has been renamed POR (Plan of Record). The POR tag is now always linked to a project.
